How to Storify Your Audio Tweet

When I covered the digital story assignment in class, I neglected to demonstrate the function of the Storify bookmarklet extension for Google Chrome or Firefox (the browsers you should be using to do this assignment).  What the bookmarklet allows you to do is take any web-page you happen to be on, extract the content from it, and then create it in a format that you can drag into Storify. Here’s the process:

1.  On the editing search bar for Storify, click on “bookmarklet” (it’s one of the search options beneath those series of Facebook and Twitter icons).

2. Click the blue bookmarklet logo and drag it to your bookmarks toolbar.  A bookmark called “Storify this” should appear on your toolbar.

3.  Go to the page where your audioboo audio tweet is located.

4.  Click the storify this button.

5.  Go back to the Storify editing dashboard, and then click the plus button to the far right.  Your AudioBoo audio tweet should appear.  Simply drag it into your digital story.

Let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to help!

Storify is one of many curation platforms out there.  There’s another that our class is not using called Scoop.it.  I encourage you all to read their Lord of Creation series and get ideas for building sources to make your projects successful.

Good Source

I found out that the state of Alabama government offices has an official Twitter feed.

https://twitter.com/#!/MediaAlabamaGov

It never hurts to follow sources like these or search for them in your Storify interface.  You never know what you’ll find that you can add to your digitally-curated story.
